Evolving Ecclesia is a blog which explores faith, theology, and current events through an inclusive lens, seeking to build a church that is continuously becoming more just, welcoming, and relevant.

This project began as a discernment tool. I found myself struggling as an LGBTQ+ Catholic who experienced a strong pull toward a religious vocation, despite knowing that I would never be able to have one in the current church. Over the course of several years, I found that I was not the only person out there trying to navigate this difficult confluence of identities.

I know that there are even more people out there who desire inclusive, affirming theology and churches – people who have often given up on the thought of such things, frequently after negative experiences and interactions with those who call themselves believers, and even shepherds. My hope is that this blog and its associated projects will reach anyone who finds themselves searching for a reason to carry on in Christ, and that it can empower them to be the change they want to see in the church and the world.
